The game kicks off right after the events of Spyro: Year of the Dragon . The Dragon Realms are celebrating a rite of passage for young dragons, where they receive their new dragonfly guardians. The party is crashed by the returning villain , who attempts to steal the dragonflies to weaken the dragons.
