The "secmen2015.rar" file, surfacing in early 2016, contained the sensitive personal data of approximately 49.6 million Turkish citizens, making it one of the largest data breaches of its kind. The leaked information, which included National ID numbers and addresses, facilitated widespread identity theft risks and led to the rapid implementation of the Law on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK) in Turkey.
