Jax tightened the strap of his kinetic pulse-rifle. Beside him, Kael was rewriting the code on a stolen security pad, his fingers moving like a pianist’s.
"The Enforcers are already pinging the sector," Jax said, glancing at the drone lights swiveling in the smog above. "We don’t have three minutes."
"Three minutes until the Mag-Lev hauler passes overhead," Kael whispered, his eyes reflecting the green scrolling text of the interface. "If we miss the coupling, we’re just two more ghosts in the Silt." Renegades
As the first skiff opened fire, Jax didn't dive for cover. He leaned into the wind, the neon glow of the city caught in his visor, and pulled the trigger. They weren't just stealing power; they were sparking a revolution.
