While the immediate danger is over, Junpei is reminded that the curse is not broken; he must continue to fulfill the remaining wishes of 100 cats to truly save himself.

In this final episode, Junpei Kōsaka faces the full weight of his cat curse. After Kaede Mizuno becomes suspicious of his secret, the curse accelerates, causing Junpei to physically transform into a cat. Because of his severe cat allergy, this transformation is potentially fatal.

Kaede finds him in his cat form and, seeing how the local cats trust him, realizes how much he actually cares for them. Her positive realization causes the curse to abate, returning Junpei to his human form (albeit famously naked in public).
