The distribution of software via compressed archives like .zip files is a hallmark of the independent gaming scene. This method allows creators to share their work directly with niche audiences through various online platforms. Without the constraints of large-scale publishing houses, independent developers have the freedom to explore unique art styles and specialized themes.
