The story begins with meeting a collapsed girl named Éclair and her bird-like companion, Momon . Éclair has lost her memory, except for a vague mission to deliver two halves of the "Phoenix Stone" to a specific location. As the Fairy Tail guild steps in to help, they are pursued by the Carbuncle Guild , a group of dark mages hired by Prince Cream of the Veronica Principality.
