Development of Call of Duty 3 was handled by Treyarch with a very tight eight-month window. Due to this short timeframe and the focus on the launch of "next-gen" consoles (at the time, PS3 and Wii), the planned PC version was scrapped to ensure the console releases met their deadlines.
