Alexis Rodriguez [VERIFIED]

I’ve always been the girl with the pen and paper. My mom tells me that even when I was tiny, I was constantly scribbling, trying to capture something—a feeling, a story, a moment that felt too big to stay inside. But it wasn’t until 2015 that I finally decided to stop keeping those scribbles to myself and launched "Letters By Lexi."

For the Hispanic community, those "dark" things often include family trauma and the deep-seated stigmas surrounding mental health. We’re taught to be strong, to keep things within the family, but sometimes that strength becomes a cage. My mission is to use my poetry and my stories to break those bars. If I can help just one person feel seen—if they can read a poem of mine and think, “I’m not the only one who feels this deeply” —then I know I’ve done my job as a writer.
