The sky transformed from a brilliant, burning orange to a deep, bruised purple. As the light faded, the true magic of this specific spot revealed itself. High above, away from any city grid or pulsing neon sign, the stars began to pierce through the darkness. First one, then a dozen, and finally thousands upon thousands, spilling across the sky like a bag of crushed diamonds.

Leo reached into his pocket and pulled out his digital camera. He set it up on the small fold-out table, angling the lens through the window to capture the silhouette of the caravan against the celestial spectacle. He adjusted the exposure, clicked the shutter, and waited. When the preview appeared on the small screen, it was perfect. The glowing interior of the caravan, the vast, empty desert, and the endless sea of stars above. He smiled to himself, knowing he had finally found his perfect 1920x1200 caravan wallpaper.

The old, sun-bleached map on the dashboard was largely useless, but the coordinates scratched in the margin had brought Leo exactly where he needed to be. He killed the engine of his truck, letting the silence of the high desert rush in to fill the space. Behind him, the heavy steel hitch groaned softly as the weight of the 1920x1200 caravan settled into the soft, dusty earth.

He stepped out into the crisp evening air, his boots crunching on the gravel. The caravan was a relic of a bygone era, an aluminum-clad capsule that had likely seen more miles of open road than most modern interstate systems. Its rounded edges and riveted body caught the last, dying rays of the sun, reflecting a warm, golden hue across the scrubland. Leo walked around to the side, running his hand over the cool metal. He pulled the lever on the door, and with a heavy, satisfying thunk, it swung open.

The interior smelled of old cedar, vanilla, and a faint hint of kerosene. It was remarkably well-preserved. Built-in mahogany cabinets lined the upper walls, and a small, checkered-curtain window looked out over the vast expanse of the desert. Leo didn't bother turning on the battery-powered lantern just yet. He wanted to watch the transition. He sat on the small, built-in bench and looked out through the glass as the horizon devoured the sun.
